What You'll Do:

The Apprentice Parks Attendant is responsible for assisting the Parks and Biosecurity team with the presentation of our open space network which incorporates passive open space, sporting fields, parks and playgrounds, gardens, cemeteries, street scapes and trees within the open space network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the maintenance and beautification of our parks and public spaces
  • Learn the ins and outs of horticulture, landscaping, and environmental care
  • Work alongside experienced professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience
  • Operate a range of plant and equipment.

Location: This role is based in Moama with some travel throughout the council area as required.

Ideal candidate Profile

We are looking for doe someone who is ready to start their career in Parks & Gardens and is committed to competing a formal qualification who:

  • Has a keen interest in parks and horticulture
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • No prior experience needed – just bring your passion and enthusiasm!

To be successful you will also need

  • A current Driver’s Licence
  • NSW Working with Children’s Check
  • National Police Check
  • Undergo a pre-employment Medical
