HAYS is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Sales Engineer on behalf of our client, a highly reputed national hydraulic company with operations in both the eastern and western states of Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with a background in mechanical engineering and a passion for sales. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and developing relationships with both existing and new customers, providing technical solutions, and contributing to business growth.
Your new role
1. Sales & Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Understand customer requirements and offer technical solutions in hydraulics and mechanical engineering.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and business goals.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing enquiries and resolving issues promptly.
2. Technical Expertise:
- Provide engineering solutions and technical support to customers.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical documentation.
- Advise customers on product selection, installation, and maintenance.
3. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, engineering, technical, and workshop teams to ensure accuracy in sales proposals and specifications.
- Assist in developing sales strategies and providing market trend insights.
4. Store & Logistics Management:
- Receipt, storage, dispatch of materials and products.
- Conduct quality and quantity checks for incoming stock.
- Ensure accurate inventory records and manage logistics for deliveries and pickups.
5. Professional Development:
- Stay updated with industry trends, new products, and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or related field), or trade qualification with experience in the local hydraulic industry.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical engineering principles.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Goal-oriented mindset with a passion for achieving sales targets.
- Energetic and enthusiastic approach to learning and career growth.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in inventory management, store operations, and logistics is an advantage.
