Hays is exclusively partnering with a rapidly growing business in Sydney Olympic Park, which has expanded significantly through mergers and acquisitions, reaching a turnover of $400 million in 2025. This role reports to the Group CFO on-site and the Head of Internal Audit overseas, focusing on the Australian operations.

Your new role

This role will provide an independent internal audit function in accordance with business objectives, legislative and professional standards, and government guidelines.

You'll be responsible for providing and coordinating the internal audit services to optimise the operational performance, planning management, and providing recommendations to improve the effectiveness of risk management.

  • Develop and implement an annual risk-based Audit Plan.
  • Perform reviews based on the audit plan and communicate outcomes to the Board, Audit Committee, and local management.
  • Identify efficiency improvements and cost savings, providing recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate with investigative authorities and ensure compliant actions.
  • Participate in Risk and Audit Committee meetings, providing reports and coordinating secretariat services.
  • Follow up on complaints and incidents reported to the Ethics Hotline.
  • Train Internal Audit staff on issues and responsibilities.
  • Manage the Internal Audit budget with the CFO.
  • Maintain the Audit System per ISO Standards, including scheduling and conducting audits, preparing reports, and following up on corrective actions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Finance.
  • CA/CPA is a plus, but not a must.
  • Background in the commercial space
  • Extensive auditing experience.
  • Strong time management, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
