A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their rapidly growing South Australian Civil team. This consultancy provides comprehensive engineering, environmental, planning, and surveying services throughout Australia, working with a wide range of clients in the Property and Infrastructure sectors to deliver high-quality, commercially pragmatic solutions with a strong focus on client service and delivery.

Your new role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer with stormwater design experience in property and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing and leading a team to deliver highly technical and complex engineering works across an extensive client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage your expertise in stormwater drainage design, flood modelling, and reporting.
  • Enhance your skills and knowledge, paving the way for advancement to the role of Principal Water Resources Engineer.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers as part of a growing team.
  • Work on a variety of projects including stormwater drainage design for land development, road, and infrastructure projects, as well as flood investigations.

What you'll need to succeed

  • High proficiency in hydrology and hydraulic theory.
  • Develop stormwater management strategies and prepare reports that succinctly demonstrate the proposed approach.
  • Superior modelling skills using industry-recognized software packages such as TUFLOW, DRAINS, HEC-RAS, MusicX, RORB, and 12D.
  • Prepare and provide input into stormwater design drawings.
  • Ensure engineering design practices and standards are in accordance with Australian Standards, guides, and codes, meeting industry best practices.
  • Review engineering designs, plans, and prepare project specifications.
  • Prepare concept, feasibility, and detailed design documentation and obtain relevant reviews and approvals.
  • Meet with the project team regularly to provide advice on stormwater drainage.
