The Role

An exciting opportunity exists within our organisation for a Mechanical Tradesperson (Diesel Fitter). Based at Council’s Proserpine Workshop, you will be responsible for carrying out and provision of quality repairs and maintenance service delivery, ensuring reliability and safety of Council’s plant and fleet assets.

Essential

1. C Class Open Licence.
2. Trade qualification in Mechanical (Diesel Fitter) and suitable trade experience.
3. Knowledge in Metal Arc Welding / MIG / Oxy Cutting and Welding.
4. Ability to work independently or in a small team environment.
5. Knowledge of operations and maintenance of a diverse range of vehicles, plant and equipment.
6. General Construction Safety Induction (White Card).

Desirable

1. Knowledge and experience in multiple mechanical trade disciplines such as hydraulic, auto electrics etc.

2. Fabrication Skills.

3. HR Class Licence.

4. Airconditioning Refrigerant Handling Licence.

5. High Risk Work Licence – Forklift.

6. Other trade certificates in vehicle, plant and truck repair works.
