The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council’s in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 29 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 370,000 residents.

The role

CBCity is seeking a Place Coordinator to join our team. This role is dedicated to improving the appearance and functionality of our town centres and open spaces through place-based management.

You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align services with strategic plans, focusing on community expectations, building relationships, monitoring, reporting, data analysis, and promotions.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Foster collaboration across Council teams to enhance cleaning and maintenance standards in town centres and open spaces. 
• Implement and manage audit programs to ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction. 
• Continuously review and align service levels with expectations for holistic place management. 
• Drive system and process improvements across all levels of the organisation. 
• Facilitate action plans, rapid response efforts, and stakeholder collaboration. 
• Develop and oversee community engagement and learning programs. 
• Build trust and improve outcomes through strong stakeholder relationships. 
• Coordinate performance reporting, data collection, and promotions. 
• Provide expert advice on town centre designs, improvements, and events, advocating for businesses and the community. 
• Stay informed on advancements in place management and maintenance technologies to drive improvements.

You will have

• Tertiary qualifications in place management or extensive relevant experience. 
• Current C Class Driver Licence. 
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships across diverse stakeholders, groups, organisations, and individuals.
• Experience in change management or business improvement initiatives. 
• Ability to navigate political environments with sound judgment and acumen. 
• Background in customer experience and satisfaction. 
• Self-motivated, energetic, and results driven. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Strong leadership and management abilities to inspire and drive performance. 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $122,553 (Grade J, Step1) + 11.5% super. Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
