We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Designer to join our Design Team within our Project Management Office. The multi-disciplinary Design Team is made up of around 15 staff including Civil Engineers, Designers and Landscape Architects. Together the team is responsible for designing a broad range of infrastructure projects including roads, pavements, carparks, cycleways, paths, parks, water, sewer, stormwater, small buildings and facilities, parks and streetscapes.

To date, the team has successfully delivered completed design of a broad range of capital infrastructure projects with individual project values up to $20 million. If Cairns Regional Council provides it for its residents, it is likely that our team has been involved in the design.

What You’ll Do:
As the Senior Civil Designer, you will play a key role in delivering best practice designs and ensuring the success of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects for Council. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting and diverse projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to bring innovative designs to life that shape the future of the Cairns region’s infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For:

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Possesses a Current “C” Class Driver's Licence in order to attend offsite meetings and inspections.
• Demonstrated high level design skills in roads and stormwater infrastructure.
• Demonstrated high level competency with engineering software packages 12D, AutoCAD and AutoTurn.
• Good communication and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively share information with all levels of staff and a range of stakeholders.
