About the Project

Join a major mining development project in the Northern Territory, focused on delivering sustainable outcomes in the agriculture and industrial sectors. This project is set to become one of Australia's significant contributors to the global phosphate supply, with first production targeted for late 2025.


The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geologist to lead geological activities across mining operations. This role is responsible for resource modelling, exploration planning, and geological interpretation to support mine planning and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mineral exploration and resource geology, with a focus on delivering high-quality geological data and insights. This is a full-time Permanent role on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster, preferably from Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, or Brisbane.

Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Lead geological mapping, sampling, and drilling programs to support resource definition, exploration strategy and mine development.
  • Interpret geological data and develop 3D geological models using industry-standard software.
  • Oversee resource estimation and classification in accordance with JORC, or other relevant codes.
  • Collaborate with mine planning, engineering, and processing teams to integrate geological inputs into operational plans.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Geologists and Laboratory Technicians.
  • Prepare technical reports, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of geological data.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all geological activities.


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Extensive experience in mineral exploration and / or mine geology, familiarity with stratified orebodies is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in geological modelling and resource estimation software (e.g., Micromine, Datamine, Leapfrog Geo, Surpac).
  • Demonstrated expertise in grade control, reconciliation, and sampling techniques, including laboratory, RC, and blasthole sampling.
  • Strong communication, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
