Council is seeking applications for a Sexton at the Ayr Cemetery to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the Ayr Cemetery.

About the role

The Sexton is responsible for coordinating the maintenance of the Ayr Cemetery by undertaking general labouring duties including mowing, whipper snipping, watering, planting, pruning, weeding and litter collection and disposal. This includes reporting of damaged or depreciated cemetery infrastructure and cleaning of facilities. This position involves coordinating preparation of grave sites in a timely manner prior to funeral services conducted at the Shire Cemeteries. The Sexton will ensure respectful and responsive customer service is provided when interacting with the public, funeral service providers and stonemasons as the Council cemeteries frontline service provider.
