The group markets and sells products through multiple channels, including online, print, television, and digital publishing. Serve as the primary engineering contact for all studio operational and technical issues, offering guidance and coaching to studio technicians.

Your new role

  • Provide operational and technical support for troubleshooting issues and confidently perform studio operations-related tasks.
  • Offer technical support for troubleshooting issues.
  • Ensure proper handling and operation of equipment to minimise repairs and downtime.
  • Perform equipment repairs quickly to restore operational capabilities.
  • Coordinate with Presentation and Transmission partners to avoid program interruptions.
  • Educate operational and technical personnel, providing guides and instructions to maintain competency and enable workarounds during failures or emergencies.
  • Track all equipment issues and performance.
  • Respond to network and PC hardware/software issues.
  • Build, configure, and maintain PC and Linux-based systems.
  • Design, code, and test hardware, software, and scripts to improve production processes.
  • Conduct audits of equipment, systems, and processes regarding engineering functionality and electrical safety.
  • Train and coach Junior Technicians, Trainees, and others in technical and operational procedures, including Technical Direction, Q&A, Audio, CCU, Lighting, and other areas as directed by the Engineering Manager.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcasting.
  • Experience in component-level fault-finding and repairs.
  • Networking to CCNA2.
  • Exceptional team player with the ability to interface effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Familiarity with CAD packages (e.g., AutoCAD), scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash), and programming languages (e.g., C, C++, SQL).
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded systems, and electronic design.
  • Proficiency in networking (preferred to CCNA2).
  • Component-level fault-finding and repair skills.
  • Aptitude for mechanical maintenance.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.
