The Oppor­tu­ni­ty

We seek an expe­ri­enced Team Mem­ber Tree Crew to work in the Parks & Gar­dens Depart­ment with­in the Tech­ni­cal Ser­vices Direc­torate, The posi­tion works as part of the Tree Crew and will main­tain trees and shrubs on the streetscapes, reserves, laneways, ovals and oth­er areas with­in the munic­i­pal­i­ty of Alice Springs.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will be includ­ed but not lim­it­ed to main­tain­ing trees and shrubs through effec­tive prun­ing and car­ing meth­ods, iden­ti­fy­ing and remov­ing weeds, pests and dis­eases and erad­i­cate them through the use of pes­ti­cides and her­bi­cides. and safe­ly oper­at­ing and main­tain­ing machin­ery includ­ing a cher­ry pick­er, wood chip­per and chain saws.

• 6 weeks annu­al leave with addi­tion­al gen­er­ous leave enti­tle­ments (annu­al leave is paid at the employee’s ordi­nary hourly rate togeth­er with a leave load­ing of 17.5%.) + 3 weeks per­son­al leave
