About the role

This position is a permanent full-time role in the construction team based at the Moruya Depot. You will provide technical support to develop, review, and monitor systematic activities within the Capital Works Division, as well as assist the Works Engineer Construction with project management, including procurement activities.

Your main duties will also include:

  • Review and update technical documentation in the civil industry field with consideration of current specifications, systems, policies, codes of practice and legislation.
  • Develop and review of Project Management Plans for the Capital Works Division in accordance with council’s systems.
  • Undertake Safety, Quality and Environmental audits in construction sites.
  • Scheduling and documentation of post-project review of projects and activities delivered by the Capital Works Division.  
  • Prepare briefs/documents for procurement and engagement of external consultants and contractors in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Identify technical process improvements within the Capital Works Division that satisfy business requirements for recommendation to the Divisional Manger Works and facilitate their implementation.
  • Assist in the development, monitoring and review of project budgets.
  • Gather information of construction systematic activities for the development of reports to be presented to external and internal stakeholders.

Salary information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $91,853.58 to $100,809.69 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $82,379.89 to $90,412.28 base salary
  • $9,473.69 to $10,397.41 superannuation (at 11.5%)

Your exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, combined with your excellent communication and experience in delivering high level of customer service will help you stand out!

You application will further demonstrate the following:

  • Associate diploma in civil engineering and/or significant relevant experience, familiarity with regional road & drainage construction works.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present accurate and timely documentation including various reports, work procedures, etc.
  • Understanding of quality, safety and environmental systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing procurement documents for engagement of consultants and external contractors.
  • Sound computing skills including use of MS Office applications and ability to use customised in-house applications.
  • High level of interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organised with proven time management skills to effectively deliver multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good analytical skills with an eye for quality and high attention to detail
