Join a respected independent organisation based in the Brisbane CBD as an Administration Officer for a temporary assignment running through to 31 July 2025.


Your new role

As the Administration Officer, you will contribute by providing efficient and effective administration support to the Governance and Corporate Services area.

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Governance team and other areas within Corporate Services. This includes managing and prioritising incoming emails, correspondence, and reports, as well as handling phone enquiries.
  • Create and maintain systems, databases, and procedures that help streamline the team’s administrative processes.
  • Oversee and manage shared mailboxes to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient records, managing tasks based on priority and deadlines.
  • Prepare and upload content and documents to the Office’s website and intranet.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support collaboration and information sharing.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, participate in meetings and training programs and actively monitor, review and assist with improvements to policy, procedure and process improvement across administrative practices.
  • Assist with gathering and reporting data, supporting projects, and coordinating logistics for meetings and events.
  • Organise meetings and events, including preparing and distributing agendas, schedules, and taking on secretariat duties as needed.


What you'll need to succeed

  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable and agile to changes.
  • Proven ability to work with a range of key stakeholders.
  • Effective organisational skills, time management and task prioritisation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and intranet systems.
  • Experience coordinating meetings and preparing documentation.
  • Understanding of governance and administrative processes.
  • Familiarity with confidentiality, WHS, and relevant legislation.
  • Awareness of public sector or corporate compliance standards.
  • Previous experience within the Queensland Government would be highly valued.
