A leading government agency in Queensland is seeking two experienced Communications Advisors (AO5) to join its Stakeholder Management team within the North Coast Region. These roles offer the chance to contribute to high-impact transport infrastructure projects that shape the future of the region.

Your new role

The successful candidates will support the Planning and Delivery business areas and will be responsible for:
  • Developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies for major infrastructure projects.
  • Providing high-level strategic advice to senior leadership, project managers, and technical teams.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, community engagement initiatives, and media-related issues.
  • Coordinating communication activities in line with governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Working hours: Up to 38 hours/week between 7am–6pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime must be pre-approved.
  • A Workers Consent form must be completed
  • Applications may be considered for future vacancies.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to adapt in fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • Proven experience in strategic communications or community engagement, preferably within the transport or civil infrastructure sectors.
  • Proficiency in public relations, media liaison, and executive correspondence.
  • A degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing (highly desirable).
  • IAP2 certification or a willingness to obtain it independently.
