  • Are you a flexible and collaborative individual?
  • Do you enjoy working both in a team or on your own?
  • Do you have experience in an instrumentation, electrical or mechanical field?
  • Are you good with hand tools? If so, we want to hear from you!

Your new company

With HQ based in Melbourne, but boasting a national and global footprint, our client is a commercially focused research and engineering organisation that has been delivering high-quality engineering services to leading mining companies—including BHP, Rio Tinto, Glencore, and Anglo-American—since 2000.
As a result of their sustained growth, they are looking to expand their team with the addition of a skilled Field Instrumentation Technician based in both Perth and the Pilbara with a 50% split between the two.
In this role, you will add your engineering and technical skills to our support team servicing several key mining clients across the area. With guidance from their experienced industry professionals, you’ll gain the tools and expertise needed to excel in your role and thrive in your career.

Your new role

The role ideally would suit a candidate who is a hands-on technician with a strong technical foundation and the drive to learn.

We’re looking for

  • Background in electrical, electronics, instrumentation, automotive, auto electrician or cabling trades,
  • Relevant trade qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma, Apprenticeship)
  • Confident with the use of hand tools and hand power tools
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both in Perth and in the Pilbara when needed
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis and perform shift work as needed
  • Experience working on heavy equipment or in remote environments is not necessary but may be highly regarded
  • Someone who is a self-starter and comfortable working autonomously
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills; comfortable dealing with multi-level stakeholders

What you'll get in return

Our client offers a competitive remuneration package that includes base salary, generous 17% superannuation, commuted overtime allowance, and other additional provisions. While the initial contract is for 12 months, there is a strong likelihood of extension beyond this term. To support this, our client is committed to providing you with comprehensive training, opportunities for professional growth, and a supportive environment to advance your career.
