As part of this change, they are investing in dedicated, specialist leadership to support their fast-growing Commercial Insurance division. This role offers the rare opportunity to lead a newly structured legal team with a clear growth mandate and full support from senior leadership.

Your new role

• Broker and distribution agreements
• New product design and platform structuring
• Policy wording and PDS review
• Complex claims support and risk advisory
• Regulatory interpretation and commercial enablement

• Lead and develop a national team of experienced lawyers, supported by a highly regarded special counsel
• Provide commercially astute legal advice on growth initiatives, platform-based products, and regulatory risk
• Engage directly with senior leaders across underwriting, claims, compliance, and business strategy
• Shape legal strategy to align with the business’s commercial ambitions and risk appetite

What you'll need to succeed

• A senior legal professional with experience in insurance or financial services—ideally with exposure to commercial insurance

• A proven or emerging people leader with the ability to manage, mentor and influence across a national legal team

• Excellent knowledge of financial services regulation, insurance law, and commercial frameworks

• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills—you’re confident advising senior business leaders

• A pragmatic problem-solver who brings both legal rigour and a business-enabling perspective
