We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Rubber Tyred HME to will play a critical role in ensuring the alignment of heavy mobile equipment (HME) engineering specifications and standards for surface heavy mobile equipment (HME) with Rio Tinto's asset management strategy. This position will support the Engineering Practice Lead in developing and maintaining global engineering specifications, providing technical expertise, and fostering collaboration across various teams to enhance asset management practices and outcomes.

Reporting to the Lead – HME Engineering and working in a collaborative community responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain global engineering specifications for surface HME.

  • Provide technical SME support and coaching to site teams.

  • Risk Management: Establish and document HME asset management risks, controls, and control effectiveness, ensuring compliance with the 3LOD performance specification.

  • Strategic Relationship Management – Technical relationship management, enabling the future proofing of the business, governance audits and FATs.

  • Collaborate with the Systems and Assurance team to ensure alignment with asset management policies and strategies.

  • Participate in global industry forums to advance engineering practices.

  • Conduct gap analysis for required standards and identify critical asset classes.

  • Support major projects and sustaining capital teams with engineering contributions.

  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in engineering within the mining industry, with a strong understanding of asset management principles, practices and Life Cycle Value Realisation.

  • Strong understanding of HME engineering specifications and standards.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.

  • Ability to perform gap analysis and develop strategic engineering solutions.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
