About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor Agreements and Governance. To be successful in this role you will be a strategic and dynamic individual, with a strong foundation in legal, contract management, compliance and/or governance.

You will draw on your cultural competency, exceptional written skills, and extensive professional experience to establish understanding, navigate complexity and achieve results. You will own and support the delivery of the Agreement Governance and technical support including research, drafting and advice specific to the Traditional Owner partnership Agreements and Commitments.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor Agreements & Governance, you will:

  • Working with a number of internal stakeholders, lead drafting of commitments and agreements, undertaking internal approval and reviews as required  
  • Offer an advisory service related to agreement and commitments
  • Lead and support technical compliance audit requirements of existing agreements and commitments
  • Conduct analysis and research to provide choices on strategic direction on partnership and agreement improvement opportunities
  • Support peer review to ensure alignment with partnership aspirations, and standard and legal compliance. Plans should be based on leading practice and consider the medium to long term.
  • Identify emerging risks and develop controls and mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate and monitor implementation strategies or plans such as benefits management structures
  • Lead overarching data and document governance management strategy for Traditional Owner Partnerships team, ensuring information is secure and accurate  
  • As required, support preparation and conduct engagements with Traditional Owner stakeholders as part of agreement makingBuild and manage internal relationships across TOP, HSEC, RTIO, RT as part of successfully communicating, aligning and deciding on strategies/ plans for Traditional Owner groups​

What you’ll bring   

  • Law degree, or equivalent
  • Native Title Agreement Legislation understanding
  • High cultural competency
  • Proven experience in influencing, negotiation and risk management
  • Exceptional written skills
  • Ability to conduct assurance activities and project management
  • Legislative/regulatory awareness and compliance
  • Social and economic impact and opportunity analysis
  • Business analysis
