About the role
We are looking for a Senior Advisor Business Improvement. In this role, you will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of HSEC systems and processes, including data and management systems. Here you will also lead continuous improvement practices across HSEC, including developing, coaching and mentoring other professionals.

Reporting to Manager Performance, Improvement, Risk and Systems you will:
Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices including SPS
Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to the Operational Delivery teams
Oversee governance and assurance of improvement projects using project management and improvement methodologies, such as facilitating workshops with leaders
Provide expert technical support to operational leaders on business improvement best practice and support the development of capability, mindsets and behaviours
Actively engage with operational leaders to identify bottlenecks and opportunities to increase operational effectiveness and establish a pipeline of future improvement
Embed the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle across RTIO HSEC to drive continuous improvement
Develop and execute high impact organisational effectiveness efforts to enable Best Operator and realise value for RTIO HSEC
Support the Manager Risk, Systems and Performance to rapidly assemble focused capability around highest value impacts and differentiators aligned to the HSEC plan and leverage agile and structured problem solving to protect the plan.
Support development and implementation of RTIO Iron Ore HSEC Digital Strategy
What you’ll bring
Exceptional safety, leadership and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced MS office
Previous experience in leading project teams or facilitating workshops to deliver results through others
Demonstrates capability in RT SPS foundational skills / best practices
Previous leadership experience
Extensive experience using business improvement processes within the mining, manufacturing or heavy industry
Project engineering or planning experience
Business analyst or commercial experience
Previous experience / knowledge of digital transformation
