Senior Financial Accountant

Your new company

Our State Government Department client is looking to bring on a Senior Financial Accountant, on a temporary contract basis until the end of September (with possibility of extension). This role requires an immediate start and is based in Perths CBD.

Your new role

• Leads the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including notes, reconciliations, and audit-quality working papers.
• Ensures the integrity of the general ledger for all entities.
• Prepares, reviews, and approves all journals for month-end activities.
• Reviews and monitors all month-end reconciliations.
• Submits the monthly Business Activity Statement to the Australian Taxation Office.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of financial management policies and procedures.
• Provides training and advice on financial policies and procedures.
• Supplies information to support internal and external audit programs.
• Applies principles of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, Occupational Safety and Health, and ethical practices in all aspects of the role.

What you'll need to succeed.

• To be based in Perth.
• Extensive experience in a similar role.
• To be ready for an immediate start.
• To be able to pass a National Police Clearance.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
