Senior Resource Recovery Officer

Are you passionate about driving sustainable waste management practices and making a real impact on the environment? Kyogle Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Resource Recovery Officer to lead and enhance our waste management services across the region.

• Generous salary Grade 6 $69,498.00 – Grade 8 $83,184.40 dependant on experience
• Flexible working arrangements, 35 hours per week, 9 day fortnight, including weekends for exhibitions and events
• Contribute to the sustainability and waste management initiatives of the local community

As the Senior Resource Recovery Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating the operations of Council’s waste management facilities and driving resource recovery initiatives. You will oversee waste facility staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop projects aimed at improving waste management across the Kyogle local government area.

Essential Criteria:

• Relevant qualifications in waste management, environmental management, or sustainability (e.g., Certificate III/IV or tertiary qualification).
• A valid Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Demonstrated experience in waste management or resource recovery.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage staff and contractors effectively.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and regulatory requirements.
