The City of Salisbury’s Field Services Department is dedicated to maintaining Council’s essential infrastructure, ensuring that public spaces and assets remain safe, functional, and inviting. This comprehensive service includes the maintenance of buildings, workshops, fleet, and stores; civil infrastructure such as drainage, footpaths, and waste management; and the care of parks, landscapes, and open spaces. Specialized teams handle everything from arboriculture and turf management to pest control and security, while also responding to emergencies and maintaining contracts for features like reserve maintenance and cemetery services. Field Services plays a crucial role in supporting a vibrant and sustainable community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage street tree planting, maintenance programs, and verge maintenance contracts.
- Create, implement, and monitor work schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Develop, monitor, and review KPIs, standards, and metrics for service delivery.
- Oversee minor outsourced maintenance contracts, from tendering to contract administration.
- Respond to customer requests and ensure high standards of customer communication.
- Provide technical guidance to work crews and contractors for horticultural maintenance.
- Coordinate and motivate team members to foster a productive, harmonious work environment.
- Manage staff performance, training needs, and professional development.
- Prepare reports and recommendations in consultation with the Team Leader on identified risks.
- Facilitate continuous improvement, identifying areas to enhance processes and standards.
Criteria:
- Diploma in Arboriculture or equivalent experience
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management
- Current SA driver's license
- Proven experience in contract management and leadership
- Knowledge and understanding of AS4373-2007 Pruning Amenity Trees
- Demonstrated efficiency with MS Suite and Computer skills
