Team Leader Transport

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands, and a bustling CBD. We are currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to coordinate our busy Transport team with the Traffic and Transport service unit. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cultivating a supportive, high-performance culture and ensuring that deliverables are managed effectively and within deadlines. 

The role 

As the Team Leader Transport, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, coordination, and performance of the Transport Team within North Sydney Council's Traffic & Transport Service Unit. This pivotal role ensures the efficient and effective delivery of transport services, while also maintaining a high level of customer service and collaboration across various teams and stakeholders. 

Key responsibilities 

• Management of the Transport Team to embed a supportive and high performing culture
• Managing the development and review North Sydney Council transport and access policies, strategies & projects
• Management and reporting of budgets for operational and capital expenditure associated with external consultants, staff and project planning and delivery
• Provision of Traffic Advice on Developments and Strategic Planning Issues
• Embed leadership into the development and implementation of North Sydney Council transport policies, strategies and advocacy

Salary Range: $124,435 to $148,583 per annum + 11.5% super + $1,000 pa transport allowance 

35 hours per week with access to flexi time
