What you’ll do:

The role of the Arborist Assistant is to provide support and assist in the identification and assessment of the health of street, reserve and rural trees and update this information in Council’s Assets Register.

The position is also required to work closely with allied professionals including Urban and Regional Planners, Landscape Architects and Environmental Consultants to provide strategic and operational planning for urban forest preservation, protection, and management.

What we’re looking for:

We would like to hear from you if you are an Arborist or a suitably skilled person with previous experience, working within an Arboricultural company that is dedicated to maintaining the councils landscape, take pride in their work, reliable, and are eager to continue to learn and develop their expertise.

To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate and commitment to safety and have experience working in uneven terrain in all weather conditions. You will also have a good grasp urban service operations and demonstrated experience in; vegetation management, operating the required tools and resources.  

Position Hours: Full-Time, 76 hours fortnight. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Medium Rigid Truck "MR" Class license
  • White Card
  • Traffic Management Accreditation (RIIWHS205E Control traffic with a stop-slow bat, and RIIWHS302E Implement traffic managements plans)
  • Chainsaw Accreditation
