About the role

This position is a permanent full-time role in the Works team based at the Moruya Depot.

Your main duties include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of construction and maintenance tasks.
  • Supporting the supervisor, staff and contractors to successfully complete projects as a team.
  • Physical labouring and other related construction and maintenance manual activities.
  • Assisting in providing customer service to the public, other service providers and government departments relating to parks projects and enquiries.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $2,728.34 to $3,191.89 gross per fortnight consisting of:

  • $2,409.10 to $2,824.84 base salary
  • $37.84 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance
  • $281.40 to $329.21 superannuation (at 11.5%)

About you

Do you enjoy working outdoors and have effective supervisory skills? As Assistant Works Supervisor you will plan, organise, monitor and undertake various maintenance projects and construction works across the Shire. You will oversee the day to day work activities of a small team and undertake physical labouring tasks. To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

  • Certificate III level qualifications in a related field (or an ability and willingness to obtain).
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Basic understanding and experience in plant capabilities and outputs used in construction and maintenance activities.
  • Significant relevant experience working within a construction and maintenance environment.
  • Ability to assist in the arrangement of quotations and providing technical interpretation for projects.
