Your new role
This is a temporary contract role until June 30th. You will be supporting a busy team in the media and communications space. The Media and Communications Coordinator assists with the development and implementation of engagement and communications activities within the Department. The position holder supports the Media and Communications team in communicating and promoting the work of the organisation.
Key accountabilities
Support the coordination and delivery of diverse communication projects and programs in collaboration with senior team members and key stakeholders to promote the work of the organisation.
Assist in researching and developing media materials for online, print, radio, television, events, presentations and printed collateral to deliver best-practice communications.
Support the work of the media and communications team to develop and maintain stakeholder contacts, monitor shared mailboxes and ensure the smooth operation of the team.
Monitor, analyse and develop reports on media coverage and event communications.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to assist in the development and delivery of communications campaigns and activities.
Contribute to and monitor project work plans to ensure timely delivery of communications materials and activities.
What you'll need to succeed
Highly developed writing skills with demonstrated experience with drafting media materials for a wide variety of audiences
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain productive and professional internal relationships
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of communication practices, tools and techniques
Experience in the development and delivery of integrated communications campaigns and activities across multimedia channels which increase and enhance audience engagement.
Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, media or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
