Senior Policy Officer

Your new company

Our state government client, based in Perth CBD, is seeking a driven Senior Policy Officer to join their busy team. Our client is seeking someone to commence as soon as possible through to June 2025. This will be a temporary contract arrangement with the expectation of working a full-time government working week of 37.5 hours.

Your new role

• Lead the development and implementation of industry-related policies and strategies.
• Provide expert advice on policy implications, risks, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders.
• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and economic impacts.
• Collaborate with government agencies, industry representatives, and other stakeholders to shape policy directions.
• Prepare high-quality reports, briefings, and submissions to inform decision-making processes.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and recommend improvements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Willingness to undergo an international police check (if not an Australian Citizen)
• Strong understanding of industry dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and economic policies.
• Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex policy issues.
• Proven experience in policy development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a similar role is desirable.
