Your new role

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in a major finance reform program? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Lead to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the Finance Reform Program (FRP) aimed at replacing the Government’s main financial management system (FMS). The existing system, implemented 30 years ago, is reaching the end of its useful life, and we need a Test Lead to ensure the successful testing and deployment of a new, contemporary FMS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the testing of the future solution configuration to ensure acceptance criteria are met.
  • Coordinate all testing requirements associated with the new environment.
  • Develop and update test strategies and test handbooks.
  • Identify, interview, and onboard testing team resources as required.
  • Oversee the development and updating of testing processes and standard deliverables.
  • Develop detailed testing plans and schedules.
  • Monitor and manage test execution, including risk and issue management.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all key project documentation.
  • Promote and implement Public Sector Principles and Practices, including Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Candidates should have full working rights in Australia (No sponsorship available).- Please do not apply if you do not have full working rights.
  • Minimum 2–3 days per week on site, predominantly city-based with occasional travel to Port Adelaide.
  • Significant experience in undertaking complex projects with a substantial impact on organizational objectives.
  • Experience in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment and deployment.
  • Proven track record in managing major application testing programs.
  • Expertise in developing test specifications, test case/script development, and test executions.
  • Strong knowledge of software design and development methods.
  • General technical and functional use of the application being tested.
  • Ability to identify strategic and operational issues, think laterally, and develop creative strategies for resolution.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Awareness of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including Code of Conduct, EEO, and cultural inclusion.
