About the Opportunity

The Mechanic/Boilermaker is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining Council equipment such as loaders, dozers, graders, road rollers, backhoes and trucks along with providing workshop services across the region.  The major focus of the role is to continuously improve operations.

This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:

Mechanical trade:

Diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment

Dismantling, repairing, rebuilding, assembling and installing parts to vehicles, construction and industrial machinery in the field and in the Workshop.

Requisitioning needed spare parts.

Interpreting specifications and job orders for assigned duties.

This position is based in Tara.

About yourself

The successful applicant will have:

  • OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card;
  • Trade qualification as Diesel Fitter; and
  • Heavy Equipment Maintenance Workshop.
