Join Our Team as a Team Leader – Electrical Control and Instrument!
Whitsunday Regional Council is on the hunt for a proactive and skilled Team Leader – Electrical Control and
Instrument to play a key role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our critical infrastructure. In this dynamic
position, you’ll lead both internal and external electrical operations for Whitsunday Water.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and ensure all electrical work is conducted professionally, safely, and to a high standard.
2. Perform thorough inspections of Whitsunday Water’s electrical equipment, providing certification and
reports to guarantee safe and efficient operation.
Operational Accountabilities:
1. Organise works, manage the ordering of critical spare parts, quotations, and maintain accurate
records.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing service
requests, complaints, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
3. Experience with SCADA/CITEC and other telemetry control systems (programming knowledge is
desirable).4. Supervise and organise maintenance, repairs, installations, and servicing for Whitsunday Water
5. 6. equipment.
Assist in the development and implementation of safe work procedures, ensuring compliance with
safety standards.
Support Council in monitoring and enforcing compliance with electrical contractors' risk management
systems.
7. Ensure electrical workers are properly trained and follow installation and testing procedures.
Your skills and experience:
Essential
1. C Class “Manual” Drivers Licence
2. General Construction Induction card (White card)
3. Trade Qualified Electrician
4. CPR / LVR
5. Person in Control certificate (or willingness to obtain)
6. Test and Tag Certification (or willingness to obtain)
7. Working at Heights Certification (or willingness to obtain)
8. Confined Space Certification (or willingness to obtain)
9. Identify, Locate and protect underground services (or willingness to obtain)
10. Provide First aid (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
1. Knowledge and experience in SCADA/CITEC and other computer-based telemetry control
systems including programming
2. Knowledge and experience in the critical aspects of monitoring, control (analysers) and
maintain services
