Our client, based in the CBD, is looking for a dynamic Senior Risk and Governance Officer to spearhead the planning, execution, and successful completion of various projects.

Your new role

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Offer expert advice and support to management on the implementation and coordination of the legislative compliance system.
  • Develop and maintain a robust governance, quality assurance, and risk framework.
  • Design and deliver legislative compliance education and training programs for key stakeholders.
  • Monitor legislative changes and manage the organisation's master legislation register.
  • Liaise with management and responsible officers to manage compliance risks, and report regularly on outstanding issues to senior management and the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
  • Consolidate risk profiles and certification processes for reporting purposes.
  • Promote a culture of effective risk management and compliance through communication and relationship management.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk management and compliance policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (degree or above) and/or equivalent skills and knowledge.
  • Extensive experience in policy analysis and developing management systems to ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies.
  • The ability to analyse information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and synthesise broad information at both strategic and detailed levels.
  • Experience in drafting and maintaining policies, procedures, and delegations of authority is desirable.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a transformation environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and creativity in generating solutions and facilitating discussions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working independently and within a team, including work planning and priority setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with organisational information systems.
