About the role
We are looking for a Superintendent – Closure Readiness to support transition of the Channar and Eastern Range mine sites from operations to closure. This role will support development of the Closure Readiness & Transition Plan and is responsible for the tactical implementation of people, mining and business readiness practices.
This role is a great opportunity to apply your industry knowledge to facilitate ‘operational readiness for closure’ deliverables within the Greater Paraburdoo Operational Readiness (OR) team. You will problem solve complex issues, support Operational, Study and Closure teams, and assist in removing roadblocks to eventual closure.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, supported by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on either a 5.2 4.3 roster (Monday – Thursday on site), or regular commute roster, which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.
Reporting to the Manager Operational Readiness you will:
- Be the primary study representative and team lead for the CH/ER Closure Readiness team
- Lead development of the Closure Readiness Plan and delivery of operational readiness aspects
- Support inputs into the life of mine, five-year and quarterly mine plans to provide clear direction for closure readiness activities such identification, load and haul and stockpiling of closure materials
- Support planning and development of the operating philosophy for early ‘bulk earthworks for closure’
- Support development of the operational make-safe and asset management plans for closure
- Collaborate with Study, Project and Operational stakeholders, and facilitate operational involvement in achieving the desired closure outcomes
- Lead site engagements and planning for the operational interfaces with the closure project
- Ensure closure readiness risks are identified and managed within the Study and Site Risk Registers
- Contribute to the Organisational Change Management Plan, with a focus on mitigating risks to the workforce and operational plan.
What you’ll bring

- Experience in project leadership, change management, mining and/or asset readiness, stakeholder engagement and working in cross functional teams
- Experience and knowledge of RTIO mine planning principles, methodologies and tools with a focus on managing project interfaces
- Strong collaborative, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others toward a common vision or goal
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Experience with project lifecycle (major and Sustaining Capital), delivery models and managing interfaces
- Strong practical problem solving with a strategic focus
- Ability to engage in large amounts of detail, but communicate detail and complexity in simple terms
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field is desirable, for example, engineering, environmental
- A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's License (Manual)
