Your new company:

We are partnered with this State Government Department to recruit an AO6 Operational Team Leader on a 6-Month Contract with opportunities for extension. This is a full-time office-based position located in Toowoomba.

Your new role:
In this role, you’ll provide frontline operational leadership and technical support, managing complex case files and acting as the final escalation point before senior management. You’ll lead a regional team, monitor performance, and foster strong stakeholder relationships to deliver high-quality, customer-focused outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Deliver operational and technical support across regional service functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities.
  • Provide high-quality customer service through various channels, including face-to-face, phone, and email, while offering timely and relevant feedback.
  • Handle complex or sensitive cases involving disputes, claims, compliance, and regulatory matters with professionalism and care.
  • Lead and guide team operations by monitoring performance, identifying gaps, and reporting insights to improve service delivery.
  • Act as the final escalation point for complex operational issues before they are referred further.
  • Support industry engagement initiatives, including promotional and educational activities, by offering technical expertise when needed.
  • Promote core values and behaviours to foster a positive team culture and enhance the customer experience.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Strong understanding of the building and construction industry, with the ability to interpret and apply current legislation, codes, and standards.
  • Proven ability to lead operational functions and manage resources effectively to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building strategic and collaborative relationships.
  • Skilled in handling complex or sensitive issues, including those with political implications, and providing sound advice at a senior level.
