Job Description

Purpose

Lead and manage the Infrastructure Services Division to deliver infrastructure development, maintenance, and essential services that meet the needs of the Carrathool Shire community. As part of the executive management team, provide strategic leadership, contribute to planning for the Shire’s future, and ensure the effective implementation of Council decisions. Oversee financial management, project delivery, and performance reporting, fostering teamwork and collaboration across divisions. Promote a positive image of the Council and cultivate a culture of innovation, shared knowledge, and community-focused service excellence.

Essential requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Outstanding people management skills, including the ability to stimulate high performance and foster teamwork.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and negotiation skills to participate in high-level decision-making.
• Proven high-level project management skills with a track record of success in delivering major civil infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with people at all levels, and to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to provide advice, develop policies, and support decision-making for the General Manager.
• Class C driver’s licence.

Desirable requirements

• Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
• Experience in Local Government.
