Are you an experienced mechanic with a passion for maintaining heavy vehicles and plant equipment?

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team and help us maintain and repair Council’s diverse fleet, plant, and equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring that our vehicles and machinery are in top working condition, supporting the smooth operation of key services in our community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Motor Mechanic or Diesel Fitter trade qualification.
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence as required to drive Council vehicles after repairs and drive between sites.
  • Current Queensland MR or ability to obtain.
  • Enter Confined Space competency or ability to obtain.
  • Working at Heights competency or ability to obtain.
  • Elevated Work Platform (under 11 metres) or ability to obtain.
  • High Risk Work Forklift Licence or ability to obtain.
  • Demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of fleet, heavy plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in vehicle and plant electronics.
