Heavy Diesel Mechanic | Wolffdene

Heidelberg Materials (formerly Hanson) currently have an opportunity for a qualified Cert 3 Heavy Commercial Vehicle Motor Mechanic/ Diesel Fitter to Join our team at Wolffdene Quarry/Transport Team at Luscombe! This role will see you working on Heidelberg Material’s fleet of Truck and Dogs as a permanent full time team member.

Hours of work: 5:30 - 5:30pm (roughly 58-62 hours per week) Monday to Friday with overtime as required including Saturday work (half day).

Monthly RDO

Salary - Annual potential of $120K-$140K with overtime plus super.

Tool allowance (tools are also provided): $30.29 per week.

Weekly Meal allowance: $89.60 per week. 

Breaks: 2 x 30 minute (paid).

In your new role, you will be:

• Determining vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Keeping equipment available for use by completing scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance
• Attending equipment breakdowns and conduct repairs in a timely manner
• Assist Leading Hand in the ordering of parts for servicing and repairs

This role is a great fit for you, if you:

• Are a Qualified Cert 3 Heavy Commercial Motor Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• To be able to perform minor, major mechanical, electrical fault finding and minor welding and fabricating to an existing fleet of approximately 90 Mack Tridents.
• Have good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Enjoy working as part of a team and unsupervised.
• Can recognise problems/issues, analyse, formulate and implement appropriate solutions.
• Possess a strong process/task orientation.
• Can identify hazards and implement safe work procedures.
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screening
• Must have car License and own transport.
• Able to perform A, B and C servicing and inspections and day to day running repairs.
