Manager Strategic Planning

Full Time Contract – 4 Years
Location – Proserpine
Base Salary - $140,000.00 to $160,000 per annum
(Plus Motor Vehicle Allowance, Relocation Assistance and generous Salary Sacrifice options)

The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed, efficient and self-motivated individual to join our Regional Strategy and Planning directorate as Manager Strategic Planning.

This role is integral to the ongoing delivery of the overall operations of the Strategic Planning Team, ensuring the effective, safe and efficient management of Council's objectives.

Essential

1. C Class Manual Driver’s Licence
2. Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
3.Proven abilities to conduct research into issues and provide working solutions.
4. Strong Customer Service orientation.
5. Demonstrated business management skills across Local Government planning, including administration and finance.

Desirable

1. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in leading a Strategic Planning team.
2. Demonstrated experience within a State or Local Government environment.
3. Previous experience in Local Government Infrastructure Plan development.
4. Previous experience in managing Planning Scheme amendments. Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement planning scheme amendments, policy, procedures and measures, including monitoring/reporting mechanisms, practices and the processes and practices involved in compliance for delivering on strategic planning matters.
5. Developed leadership, project planning and management expertise with a record of achievement in planning scheme amendments.
