Merriwa
Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week) – 9 day fortnight

The role:
Council is looking to expand our team with a skilled and motivated medium plant operator to join our Merriwa Works Delivery crew. 

As a Medium Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating trucks and medium plant to support road maintenance and construction projects. You will also assist with general labouring duties as required, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and effectively.

This position provides the opportunity to operate a range of plant, including but not limited to:  
Heavy Rigid Truck Small Excavator < 7T Water Cart
Loader Skidsteer Tractor & implements
Roller Backhoe Other construction machinery as required

What’s on offer:
-$1102.80 - to $1235.10 per 38 hour week + 11.5% super + weekly operational staff allowance + potential overtime and the opportunity for salary progression
-Christmas break shut down and no mandatory public holiday work
-A true 38 hour working week, Monday – Friday working week with the opportunity to access overtime if desired
-9 day fortnight (that means every second weekend is a long weekend!)

What we need from you:
HR license (essential) and willing to obtain within the first three months
Experience in truck driving for construction or maintenance or other plant experience
Willingness to learn and develop to expand your skills in plant operation
A valid Construction Induction (White Card)
Proven ability to operate, maintain, and service medium and small trucks and plant to a high standard
Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans Certification, or a willingness to obtain
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
High level commitment to WHS regulations and safe work practices in civil construction and plant operations.
