About the Opportunity

The Project Management Office Lead is responsible for providing tools and support to assist Council deliver its budgeted capital and operational programmes and projects. This role is responsible for implementing a Project Management Framework including supporting tools, to standardise the planning, prioritisation and delivery of Council's programmes and projects. This role is also responsible for the reporting of Council's programmes and projects to relevant stakeholders through effective monitoring, tracking, and reporting.  

This position is based in Dalby.

You will be:

  • Developing and implementing a Project Management Framework, including supporting tools and templates, to standardise the planning, prioritisation, and delivery of Council's capital and operational programmes and projects, in collaboration with your supervisor;
  • Providing support and training to relevant Council staff on the project management framework, development of business cases, and whole of life project cost analysis;
  • Contributing to monthly suite of financial reports, in particular on project status and financial completion based on updates from project owners, project managers, project officers, and business support officers across Council;
  • Support project owners, project managers, and the procurement team to ensure the accurate and timely recording of capital expenditure and commitments in Council's enterprise resource planning software.

This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO, and also has the option of a compressed working roster.

About yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant tertiary qualification, or studying towards one, in Business or associated discipline (for example, Accounting, Project Management, Commerce) OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:

  • Project management certification (for example, Prince2, PMBOK, PMP) or other similar recognised project management methodology;
  • Registered Project Management status with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) or the capability of achieving the status; and
  • Experience in a Local Government environment.

Mandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.
