Senior Urban Planner (Strategic) – Fixed Term 12 months maternity leave cover

• Salary: $102,340 - $117,650 per annum
• Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)

Two exciting opportunities have become available for experienced and dedicated strategic town planners to join our team to assist in facilitating high quality development that will shape the City’s future through a range of exciting projects including the review of the City’s Local Planning Strategy and Local Planning Scheme.

You will join a high performing team and contribute to the delivery of a broad range of strategic land use planning related work including policy development and planning reform implementation, as well as the assessment of subdivision, scheme amendment, and structure plan proposals. This is a great opportunity to put into practice your strategic urban planning, research and analytical skills.

• Which position is being applied for (full-time, fixed-term or both)
• Sound experience in the preparation, review and application of planning strategies, planning schemes, policies and related planning project work.
• Tertiary qualification appropriate to Urban and Regional Planning or Urban Design
• Ability to produce high quality reports on technical issues in plain English.
• Highly developed decision making, analytical and research skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of and specialist skills to administer and interpret the Planning and Development Act 2005, Residential Design Codes and related legislation and government policies.
