Mechanic / Diesel Fitter (Leading Hand)

Information on the Position:

Flinders Shire Council is seeking candidates for the role of a Mechanic / Diesel Fitter – Leading Hand.

The Mechanic / Diesel Fitter is responsible for maintenance, proactive and reactive across Council’s light and heavy plant/fleet.

As a Leading Hand, you will also be required to provide supervision and direction to mechanics and apprentices to ensure efficient and effective performance of duties.

As a representative of Council, demonstrated professionalism and a commitment to a high level of service and continuous improvement in the best interest of Council and the Community are essential.

The position is classified as a Level C10 – C7 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C) Award – State 2017.

The hourly rate for this position is $33.97 – $45.17 depending on skills, qualifications and experience and in line with Council’s Over Award Payment Policy. Overtime, allowances and other penalty rates may also be available. A Leading Hand Allowance is also applicable to this position.

This is a permanent full-time position. The standard hours of work are 6.00am – 3.30pm (38 hours a week), working a 9-day fortnight. (i.e. one day a fortnight is a paid day off).
